Grade 12 University English Man's Search for Meaning Lesson
During my second placement I spearheaded the study of the Holocaust memoir by Viktor Frankl entitled "Man's Search for Meaning." To teach this material I employed the tactics of flipped classroom. Prior to each class I would assign students 20-25 pages of the text. Their nightly task was to read and identify any key lines, points, and or ideas which they felt were important. This method proved to be successful. During class time the students discussed the selected pages in a tutorial like format. The students led the discussion and learned from the each other. My role during these lessons was to act as an educational guide and discussion mediator for the students learning process. Below is a formal lesson plan pertaining to the flipped classroom.
